Corinna is a hairdresser, educator, and business owner based in Oakland, Ca. She recently launched her education venue Pony Studios which hosts Pony Education. I was honored and humbled to be asked to speak. She brought together a group of incredible, amazing, and diverse hair talent. The level and variety of skill of the Pony educators is unprecedented. There was a void to be filled in hair education and when Corinna called me to ask my advice last year I told her to “think big & aim high.”
If the launch party was any indication of Pony Studios’ future I believe it will be a huge success. The audience in that room, her team, and the educators is a reflection of how incredible she is. We were all brought together by her. It was a reunion of sorts and I was pleased to be joined on stage by Dennis Lanni, Ramona Eschbach, Nicholas Roach, and Corinna Hernandez.
It was a symbolic passing of the torch, Corinna’s vision for Pony Studio was based on her hair education and experience at Bumble and bumble. I want to express my utmost pride, respect, and congratulations for what she has done. I believe she and her husband Brett are providing a major service to the hair industry and education.
Many attendees and educators expressed their appreciation for what I may have done for their careers. It meant a great deal for me to hear their stories and it was truly a gift to reconnect. I am very grateful to Corinna for making this reunion possible.
Additional Thanks to Gina Schiappacasse, Cat Meyer, and the team at Pony: Eryk Brian, Heather Salmons, Amber Williams, John The Hairdresser, Ashley Rourk, Casey Montalbano, Hannah Bourne, and Brett Foreman.
